Why we're drinking thisWith vineyards on the sun-drenched terraces of Côtes du Rhône and a cellar in the quaint village of Vacqueyras, this château produces exceptional Vacqueyras and Gigondas wines. This family-owned estate, which passed from father to daughter is now run with obvious enthusiasm by Monique Bouteiller and her son, Phillipe. A favourite of Robert Parker who comments, “Chateau de Montmirail is a fine producer of Vacqueyras and their wines are always deep in colour, loaded with fruit and filled with personality.” Monique’s grandfather, Gabriel Archimbaud, was one of the driving forces behind Vacqueyras getting its AOC designation and was the first bottler in the region.
