Why we're drinking thisWhile studying at Germany’s Geisenheim University, Kai Schubert dreamed of establishing his own vineyard. After graduation, he and his partner Marion Deimling began looking the world over for the ideal area to grow premium Pinot Noir. When they visited the Wairarapa region of New Zealand’s North Island, they knew they had found their place in the sun. In 1998 Schubert acquired a small, established vineyard in Martinborough and today the couple has 12 hectares under vines, producing internationally acclaimed wines.
