Some of Niagara’s most exciting Bordeaux varietals come from the tiny Stouck Estate Farm, a family-owned property since 1899. Dan Stouck is the sixth generation to farm the land, and he’s also Malivoire’s assistant winemaker. Just four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and three acres of Merlot are grown, with vines averaging more than 30 years old. The wines are big, bold and beautiful—there's personality here, and you can taste it. The 2011 vintage of the Meritage received a Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Ontario Wines. The 2012 will develop along the same path.
