  Why we're drinking this
  First off, you should know that Sauvignon Blanc is a remarkable grape, able to dance that fine line between fruity and savoury in the most beguiling fashion. It’s a staple of Bordeaux, a signature grape of New Zealand, and it makes a bold statement in many other countries from Chile to South Africa. Here in Ontario, it’s one of our stars, for it loves a cool climate and a bit of limestone soil. We enjoyed this wine’s racy acidity and precise grassy-lime flavours. Sauvignon Blanc is a specialty at Peninsula Ridge and this wine in particular comes from the storied Wismer Vineyards in Niagara, a small parcel of land that produces some of Ontario’s best wines. It’s a real beauty—a perfect food wine for just about any fall feast.

  Tasting Note
  Kwäf Taste Bud Zoltan Szabo hits the nail on the head, describing this wonderful Sauvignon Blanc as “the Loire meets Marlborough.” It’s got the finesse and suppleness of a great Loire SB with the zest and verve of New Zealand’s signature style. Truly, this is an Ontario Sauvignon Blanc, a tad lighter in body, and superbly crisp. Characteristic lime and fresh basil comes to the fore, along with some nice tropical fruit nuances. Sauvignon Blanc lovers will be taken with its finesse and personality. For those who are new to the charms of good SB, you’ll note the joyous blending of fresh fruit flavours along with herbaceous notes (basil, thyme). Great to sip on its own, but wonderful to play along with a wide assortment of fall and winter dishes, especially well-seasoned white meats. The Taste Buds are unanimous on this one, giving it a solid 88+ points.
